Texting used to be a luxury only some people had. And how often should you text a girl is a question most guys wonder at some point or other. Texting is used a lot in the dating world.
So no pressure, but your entire romantic future here could be determined by your first few text messages. The first text is always the hardest. How long do you wait to message that cute guy from the gym?
All sorts of questions cross your mind — should I text him first? Did he text me too soon? Is he ignoring my text messages? And the most important questions--How often should he text me?
You'd think that after the initial anxiety of a new relationship died down, so too would the pressure of communicating properly with your partner. And it does, at least in my experience. But the question lingers longer than one would like: How often should you text your partner?
Of all of the dating dilemmas people come to me with, texting is at the top of the list. I have no doubt that texting etiquette and texting interpretation faux pas have tanked more budding relationships than anyone could actually count! I hear a lot of women complain about men who text instead of call.
When you first get together with someone, it might feel really great to talk to the person you're dating every day. Swept away by new feelings and newness, you want to stay connected to affirm your feelings for each other. You want to check in with them, tell them what a nice time you had the last time you hung out, and find out how their day went.
I am currently seeing two guys — a good texter and a bad texter — and it makes all the difference. Otherwise, it's hard to develop a connection with someone. The good texter I'm seeing messages me every day when he wakes up. If we're in the middle of a conversation, and he has to go away from his phone for a bit, he'll let me know, so I'm not left waiting for him to respond.
